Video Analysis of PoolCorp (POOL)
Hi everyone,
Welcome to my first official newsletter for “Rule 1” style investing. This is not investing advice, just analysis that I’ve done for what I think are “Wonderful Companies.” I was thrilled to have beaten the S&P 500 (albeit by a small margin) in 2023, and I am excited for what 2024 has in store. As I said in a previous email, I'd love to open a hedge fund some day, but I want a track record of consistent performance over the course of a few years to get to that point in the future.
Background of Rule 1 Style Investing:
Here is a short video in which Phil Town (Hedge Fund Manager / Educator) explains his style of investing that is modeled off of Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger, and Ben Graham.
Here is a short article that covers Charlie Munger's 4 main principles of investing. Put another way, it examines the Meaning, Moat, Management, and Margin of Safety (price) of a company worth buying.
Now to PoolCorp…
If you want to participate with the PoolCorp research, can you please:
Make sure you are loosely familiar with the Rule 1 style of investing (links in the section above)
Watch my video I recorded (also follow along with my sheet here) [This is not investing advice! Just analysis.]
Give me feedback on the analysis (what made sense, what didn't)
Give me your feedback on the company (would you invest in PoolCorp)?
Let me know if you want to keep getting videos like this.
